PHE Courtside Reflections
PHE Courtside Reflections
This activity builds quick, in-the-moment reflection into an active PHE class. During a station-based lesson, students rotate through a Rest & Recovery Station where they grab water, choose a reflection prompt, and record a short video response in Seesaw.
Framing the reflection like a courtside interview keeps responses conversational and authentic. Students choose the question that connects most with their experience, reflecting on areas such as skill development, effort and body awareness, goals, encouragement, teamwork, or respect. The routine can be adapted to most PHE units and reused throughout the year.

Introduce the Rest & Recovery Station and frame the activity like a courtside interview: responses should capture what students are thinking right now, not be polished presentations.
Students participate in their regular PHE stations. At the Rest & Recovery Station, they choose a prompt, record a short Seesaw reflection, and use the remaining time to rest, stretch, or get water before returning to activity.
Reuse the station across PHE units by changing the reflection prompts to match current skills, learning goals, and Core Competencies.
